2017 Scholarship Application

(Click link above, print form, complete and mail)

Each academic year, Texas UPMA offers college scholarships to children and grandchildren of Texas UPMA Postmasters, retired Texas UPMA Postmasters, or deceased Texas UPMA Postmasters who are entering their first year of college. The State Board of Directors will determine the value of the scholarships from the funds raised from the previous year contributions, money raised by the chapter, money from the endowment fund, and money budgeted by the Board of Directors.

Good character, scholastic achievement, leadership qualities and the ability to follow instructions are the criteria by which your application will be judged with some consideration for financial need. Only students of outstanding merit, who show an appreciation of the value of education and who are willing to struggle to achieve success will be considered for this award. While elaborate presentation is unnecessary, careless presentation will handicap the applicant.

All scholarships awarded will be conditioned upon the enrollment of the recipients in an undergraduate program in an accredited college, university, or trade school. Applications are accepted beginning January 1st of the current year. The application must be postmarked no later than May1st of the current year.

Applications will be judged by the scholarship committee. The names of the winning recipients will be announced at the state convention of Texas UPMA.

For further information, an application form, or to make a contribution to the scholarship fund, please contact the Scholarship Committee Chairman
